Cloud management innovator provides free monitoring solution for Cloud Foundry application developers
Zenoss, Inc., a next generation provider of management software for physical, virtual, and cloud-based IT environments, today announced the availability of their monitoring solution for applications built on Cloud Foundry, the open platform as a service. Available as a free, open source product, Zenoss’ monitoring solution for Cloud Foundry allows developers and operators of applications built on the Cloud Foundry platform to maintain real-time inventory, health and performance of their cloud-based applications and underlying components. To help ensure a consistent end-user experience, automated monitoring and service assurance are essential for cloud-based applications.
“Cloud Foundry is a disruptive force in application development.” said Bill Karpovich, CEO of Zenoss. “We’re pleased to be the first to provide monitoring and real-time service assurance for what will be the next generation of cloud-based applications”
By bringing its automatic model-based monitoring approach to Cloud Foundry, Zenoss provides developers with automated monitoring solution that automatically discovers configuration changes and keep monitoring in sync with what’s deployed. Zenoss can also drive scaling and reconfiguration in real-time based on performance and other state information. Availability, event, configuration and performance information can be directly fed into Zenoss’ operations data warehouse for advanced historical trending and analysis.
James Watters, Group Manager of Ecosystem Development for Cloud Foundry at VMware, added, “A key part of the success of Cloud Foundry is the ecosystem that is rapidly forming around it. Developers and operators will have everything they need to succeed along with choice and flexibility. We are happy that Zenoss has quickly innovated and delivered Cloud Foundry monitoring to the market less than a month after our launch.”
