Abstract: The Xen Hypervisor was built for the Cloud from the outset: when Xen was designed, we anticipated a world, which today is known as cloud computing. Today, Xen powers the largest clouds in production. This talk introduces Xen's and XCP's architecture. The talk will cover features such as the paravirtualization spectrum and it's evolution, domain dissagregation and others and explain their relevance for building clouds at scale. The talk will conclude with an update on the latest developments in the Xen community that are relevant to CloudStack users, such as Xen and XCP support in Linux, Xen 4.2 and XCP 1.6 features and exciting items on the Xen and XCP roadmap that are relevant for CloudStack users.
