Tidemark, whose Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform is built for the cloud, announced today that it will partner with VMware to deliver the Tidemark Enterprise Performance Management Platform on the VMware virtualization and cloud infrastructure platform. The new service will provide customers with the business benefits of a tightly integrated software suite running on VMware vCloud® technology.
Aimed at manufacturing, consumer products, retail, and high tech firms, the Tidemark Enterprise Performance Management Platform delivers real-time, robust risk-adjusted metrics management; strategic, financial and operational planning and forecasting; and profitability modeling. The Tidemark application is built to deliver real-time results while processing multiple terabytes of data per day using an architecture featuring Apache Hadoop, post-relational data stores and real-time in-memory computation. VMware vCloud technology enables increased flexibility with lower costs with the same level of hardware, network and computing SLAs consistent with VMware virtualization technology.
By running Tidemark’s Enterprise Performance Management Platform on VMware, organizations can get the business functionality they need in a fraction of the time of on-premise equivalents while meeting customers’ robust infrastructure specifications.
Powered by big data technologies executing on VMware vSphere®, Tidemark leverages the following VMware technologies to deliver its solution:
- VMware vSphere 5: Tidemark leverages the ability of VMware vSphere 5 to support virtual machines (VMs) with up to 1 terabyte of memory and 32 virtual CPUs. When combined with VMware vSphere High Availability, these gains in VM scalability and performance enable customers to virtualize any business-critical applications with confidence in the application’s continued performance and availability.
- VMware vCloud API: Tidemark leverages the VMware vCloud API for providing and consuming virtual resources in the cloud. It enables deploying and managing virtualized workloads in private, public and hybrid clouds as well as interoperability between clouds.
- VMware vCloud Director™ 1.5: Enabling a self-service model for provisioning infrastructure services across internal and external sources, VMware vCloud Director 1.5 will enable Tidemark to dramatically reduce the time required to provision new servers as well as deploy the platform in public, private, and hybrid cloud environments behind customers’ firewalls.
“Being built for the cloud means exploiting the full power of virtualization, and virtualization is a key underpinning of the Tidemark Enterprise Performance Management Platform. We needed a partner that had a robust set of capabilities that the market trusts, and this made VMware the obvious choice,” said Nenshad Bardoliwalla, co-founder, Products at Tidemark. “Organizations can now leverage EPM applications built for the cloud powered by the industry-leading virtualization infrastructure trusted by enterprises everywhere.”
“Enterprises are increasingly moving their most demanding applications to the cloud,” said Dan Chu, vice president, Cloud Services, VMware. “Tidemark’s EPM solution built on VMware vCloud® technology is another step forward for customers on the cloud journey, delivering a real-time performance management solution ideal for private, public or hybrid cloud environments.”
