Teradici, the developer of the innovative PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) protocol that enables a true PC experience for desktop virtualization, today announced its sponsorship and participation at VMworld 2011 Europe, October 18 – 20, at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. Teradici will demonstrate its latest PCoIP solutions in booth #114.
New solutions include:
- Additional PCoIP zero clients and updated capabilities such as Power over Ethernet and single sign-on using proximity cards: Powered by the PCoIP hardware engine, PCoIP zero clients virtually eliminate the need for desktop management by containing no CPU, application OS, device drivers, fan or hard drive.
- APEX 2800 server offload card: Specifically designed to offload PCoIP image encoding from the server CPU, the APEX 2800 provides a significant reduction in CPU utilization and consistent application performance.
- PCoIP Software release 3.8 in VMware View 5.0: The PCoIP Software release 3.8 offers bandwidth improvement by up to 75 percent, enhanced session resilience for mobile users, and software session statistics to improve end user session management and performance monitoring.
Additionally, Ziad Lammam, director of product management, desktop solutions, Teradici, will present the breakout session “Taking the PCoIP Protocol to the Next Level”, taking place on October 19 at 10:30 a.m. In the session, Mr. Lammam will provide an overview of the major updates to the PCoIP protocol that are included in the release of VMware View 5.0, as well as share recent bandwidth and CPU utilization benchmark data.
Teradici customer DER Deutsches Reisebüro GmbH & Co. OHG, a German Travel agency with the largest Wyse P20 installation in Central Europe, will also be in attendance and presenting the breakout session “EUC1761 Check In and Take Off: How Amadeus Started a Virtual Journey into Our Travel Agencies”, on October 20 at 2:00PM. Sascha Karbginski, System Engineer at DER Reisebüro and Christoph Harding, Desktop Business Manager at VMware will be presenting on the business benefits and challenges of a desktop virtualization deployment.
“We look forward to demonstrating our PCoIP solution and showcasing the latest enhancements to the protocol in VMware View 5.0 to attendees at this year’s VMworld Europe conference,” said Trent Punnett, vice president of marketing, product management and systems engineering, Teradici.
