Open vSwitch is the most popular open source vSwitch technology, used for Cloud and now of high interest to new industries and workloads. Telco is adopting Cloud technologies, but has additional performance and QoS requirements. Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI) is attempting to automate the data center and help merge the silo’d Compute, Network and Storage over an agile quasi-runtime infrastructure. SDI requires Policy driven infrastructure to ease and enable the SDI transition and Data Center transformation.
