Diebold unveiled a prototype of the world's first virtualized automated teller machine (ATM) at VMworld 2011. The company is harnessing virtualization technology, in collaboration with VMware, to develop a more available, reliable, secure ATM and reduce the complexity of managing the self-service channel.
