Desktone, Inc. the pioneer of Desktops as a Service (DaaS), today announced that the Desktone Platform has been certified on VCETM VblockTM Systems as “VCE Vblock Ready.” Vblock systems integrate leading Cisco networking and server, EMC storage and VMware cloud infrastructure technologies into a single intelligent converged infrastructure system with seamless support. This certification provides service provider partners with the assurance that the Desktone Platform will interoperate with Vblock systems.
The certification was conducted by VCE and enables mutual channel partners and customers to accelerate adoption of Vblock systems by leveraging the Desktone Platform to rapidly provision and deploy scalable, secure virtual desktops as a cloud service.
The Desktone Platform is a simple, affordable alternative to traditional virtual desktop infrastructure technologies, using the cloud to deliver cost-effective, full-featured Windows desktops to any end user device. The platform enhances Vblock environments by providing industry-leading multi-tenancy while simultaneously remaining in compliance with Microsoft licensing terms. By offering a platform for delivering desktops as a cloud service, Desktone gives service providers a single, easy-to-use platform for delivering a variety of desktops, from shared to fully featured, all depending on the exact need of the end user.
“Desktone reduces the cost and complexity of desktop virtualization by leveraging the cloud to deliver virtual desktops that are simple to deploy, scalable and secure,” said Peter McKay, CEO, Desktone. “Being certified as ‘VCE Vblock Ready’ brings additional value-added services to our service provider partners with an integrated, high-performance infrastructure in an OpEx model.”
