Deploying a Basic Hadoop Cluster with the VMware vSphere Big Data

This demonstration shows the deployment of a basic Hadoop cluster with the vSphere Big Data Extensions. The Big Data Extensions feature is available as a free download with VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus. We provision the Hadoop cluster using the vCenter plugin that comes with Big Data Extensions (a familiar user interface to many administrators) and show how different Hadoop roles can fit into various sizes of virtual machines – and how they are deployed in an automated way. This will greatly simplify the work of the administrator as he/she deploys a variety of Hadoop clusters for various needs.
