Citrix XenServer – Powered Trusted VMs
In this demo recorded from the recent IDF 14 conference in San
Francisco, Citrix XenServer is used to power an OpenStack cloud for a service provider's public cloud. This demo highlights how we are able to take virtual machine images and encrypt them before uploading them to the public cloud image store. Importantly, the tenant maintains control of the decryption keys. With integration of Intel's TXT and TPM technologies, XenServer is also able to perform measured boot of the hypervisor platform ensuring that none of these encrypted workloads can be decrypted or run on a host that has either not been through the measured boot process, or been compromised.
