Alvarez Says Amazon's Return on Cloud Investment to Grow

April 27 (Bloomberg) — Vanessa Alvarez, an analyst for Forrester Research Inc., talks about Amazon.com Inc.'s first-quarter profit reported yesterday and the company's investment in cloud-computing services. Amazon.com, the world's largest online retailer, forecast lower second-quarter operating profit than analysts predicted as it builds warehouses and promotes its Kindle electronic-book reader.
