Unisys Corporation today announced that Edge Service Management, the company’s cloud-based Service Management solution, is available across Latin America via Microsoft Azure.
Edge Service Management is hosted locally in Brazil on Microsoft’s cloud computing platform. Because the solution is delivered on demand through a software-as-a-service model, it is also available to clients based in other Latin American countries, including Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina.
“In Latin America, banking, retail and other markets with high growth potential are being held back by the need to make capital expenditures for service-management infrastructure. With Edge utilizing Microsoft Azure cloud services, organizations can now take advantage of the managed software-as-a-service model for lower costs and faster delivery of new services,” stated Helcio Beninatto, president, Unisys Latin America.
Edge Service Management is a comprehensive, standards-based solution that helps organizations make employees more productive by enabling them to choose personalized services based on their specific organizational role. The Unisys solution uses prebuilt modules, advanced analytics tools and proven methodologies that enable clients to achieve better business results by proactively managing both services and the underlying IT infrastructure, rather than simply reacting to service events.
Built to global Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) standards, Edge enables clients to modernize legacy service desks and implement a full, scalable, ITIL v3-compliant solution quickly on Microsoft Azure.
Edge is a key part of an Integrated Unisys Service Management portfolio, which is designed to help clients achieve operational excellence, deliver business and IT support services more efficiently and improve end-user productivity. The Unisys Service Management offering also comprises Unisys VantagePointSM, Unisys Enterprise Systems Management and a comprehensive range of Service Management advisory and implementation services.
Edge Service Management can integrate with on-premises environments through Microsoft System Center 2012, making it easier to manage and support devices and applications through ITIL best practices and enable ordering, provisioning, tracking and management of resources and applications residing in the cloud.
“We are delighted to draw on our alliance with Microsoft to provide a flexible solution that gives enterprise clients a managed, cloud-based way to provide a wider range of IT and business services to their end users more cost-efficiently. The solution also gives our clients access to Unisys’ full range of consulting and managed services to amplify the benefits of service management even further,” said Beninatto.
