OpSource, Inc., Dimension Data’s wholly-owned enterprise cloud and managed hosting business, today announced that the company will be a featured speaker at Cloud Expo Europe 2012, which will be held January 25-26 in Olympia, London. The conference will focus on how major public and private sector organizations are addressing strategic and implementation issues to gain maximum advantage from their investment in cloud services. OpSource’s SVP Worldwide Channels and Alliances Jon Beck will specifically discuss what service providers and distributors should consider when reselling a public cloud service.
As a headline speaker, Beck will join several other thought leaders in the Cloud Service Provider theater, a dedicated theatre for the companies that bring the cloud to life, highlighting key business models and technology issues for cloud service providers and telcos/carriers, ISPs, VARs and ISVs looking to offer cloud services, launch aaS solutions or partner with other providers.
At a session titled “Reselling Public Cloud: Business & Technology Considerations,” being held on Wednesday, January 25th at 2:55 p.m. GMT, Beck will focus on what defines and, more importantly, is required of service providers, distributors and resellers to successfully launch a public cloud. This discussion will be followed by a brief summary and list of considerations and trends in public cloud computing that affect the market for cloud services.
Offering more than traditional cloud and hosting services, OpSource provides the integration, engineering, marketing and sales support required to launch and scale cloud–based solutions. In 2009, the company introduced OpSource Cloud Hosting, a public cloud IaaS service offering pay-as-you-go flexibility, 100-percent availability as well as increased security, control and support for integration.
