Huawei today announced at VMworld 2015 the latest versions of its hyper-converged infrastructure series for cloud and virtualization, including its new FusionCube 6000, an entry level platform, and its updated FusionCube 9000, an enterprise workhorse with proven scalability up to thousands of nodes.
Huawei’s FusionCube is a hyper-converged infrastructure that serves as a unified platform for enterprises to run both cloud/virtualization operating systems (OS) and business critical applications such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL and SAP Hana — a feature unique to FusionCube. Both the FusionCube 6000 and 9000 support VMware ESXi in addition to Huawei’s own FusionSphere cloud operating system (OS), and can also run virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere, OpenStack, and FusionSphere.
“We are excited to bring our newest versions of our hyper-converged infrastructure to VMworld,” said Ron Raffensperger, CTO, Huawei Data Center Solutions. “As an entry level platform, FusionCube 6000 enables customers to build and manage small cloud and virtualization environments with the ability to quickly scale as their needs grow. FusionCube 9000 is a high-performance, highly scalable infrastructure that features the latest hardware acceleration technologies, including InfiniBand, NVDIMM and SSD, with scalability up to thousands of nodes.”
